Lee Kum Kee proudly supports Harvard University through its collaboration with the Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. K. “Vish” Viswanath, the Center’s Director, has worked closely with Lee Kum Kee Group on a case study, united by their shared commitment to advancing positive health.  This partnership inspired a deep exploration into the organizational culture fostered by Lee Kum Kee Group, highlighting its enduring commitment to promoting positive health and happiness.

At the heart of Lee Kum Kee Group’s vision to promote health and happiness lies its unique and deeply rooted corporate culture. Centered on the core value Si Li Ji Ren, which means consider others’ interests before acting, Lee Kum Kee Group operates under the management philosophy of Autopilot Leadership Model® and Constant Entrepreneurship mindset to create an environment that prioritizes trust, empowerment, happiness, and health. The company’s culture is not only a set of values but a practical approach that shapes leadership, drives innovation, and cultivate a network where its stakeholders – employees, families, business partners, consumers, and communities thrive together in health and happiness.

Mr. Sammy Lee, Executive Chairman of Lee Kum Kee Group considers happiness among its stakeholders to be both the source of his company’s success as well as the result of the new business culture. “Culture is not easy to build – it takes years…but it gives us a competitive advantage. It’s not about what business we’re in and what model we’re using. It’s our culture.”  A critical factor in the success of these initiatives is the unwavering commitment of Lee Kum Kee’s management to “walk the talk.” The leadership consistently embodies the corporate values through transparent communication, persistent culture-building efforts, and leading by example. This hands-on dedication not only helps the Group overcame a few ups and downs, but also creates an empowering environment where employees are trusted and motivated to realize their full potential, which translates into a sustained competitive advantage.

At Lee Kum Kee, health and happiness is not just a slogan, it is a philosophy and business strategy that is practiced and implemented throughout the Company: Infinitus Global designs office environments that foster employee well-being and undertake initiatives to encourage work-life balance like the Tri-Balance concept (health, family, work), Lee Kum Kee Sauce launch a mission-driven program “Hope as Chef”, a youth culinary training provides culinary training and personal development opportunities for aspiring youths, Happiness Capital develops the Happiness Return Matrix to measure the happiness that is being created with its investment of funds, and conducted by Autopilot Leadership Lab conducts leadership innovation consultancy.  All these initiatives actively engage stakeholders in fostering trust and collective well-being, showcasing the culture in action.

Lee Kum Kee’s upgraded corporate culture, officially named “Values & Leadership,” will continue to shape the Group’s commitment to health and happiness. This evolved culture is designed to enhance agility, resilience, and focus, allowing the Group to maximize the strengths of its rich heritage while driving sustainable business growth. By embedding these values deeply, Lee Kum Kee ensures that health and happiness remain central to its long-term vision and ongoing transformation efforts.
